This unit will have students create and autobiographical self-portrait by collaging magazine imagery. The “vegetable portraits” of Giuseppe Arcimboldo will serve as inspiration.
Day 1
Introduce unit.
Complete self-reflection / brainstorming task.
Day 2
Create storage envelope.
Collect magazine imagery for collage.
Day 3-4
Demonstrate proper gluing techniques.
Experiment with different arrangements. Once a satisfactory arrangment has been created, student may begin gluing their piece together.
